2016 All Terrain and Off Road MT Tyre Test - 5th of 10 tyres

  • Overall - The Korean company continues to impress - their tyres performed well in the last two tests, and that says a consistently high quality of their products. This time, Hankook impressed on the asphalt and gravel, and if not for the relatively low strength of the sidewalls, they would have taken a place among the leaders of this test.

Top Hankook Dynapro MT Review

Given 79% while driving a Holden Rodeo Dual Cab 4x4 Ute 3ltr TD Auto (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 30,000 spirited miles
I've been driving 4x4's now for over 25 years (about 2 million K's) and usually ONLY use BFG's as here in OZ, if your Tyre fails you, you may die out there...
Something to think about?
As this is just a "work" truck I decided mainly on price at the time to get these Hankook MT's

I am impressed with the lack of noise, the wet and dry grip on bitumen is amazing and the life seems very good too.
I've done 40,000klm so far with about 20,000klm left in them and that's very good considering how heavily loaded the Ute is, and how hard I drive it... "After all, Time is Money"

Would I recommend these MT's. Absolutely. An outstanding Tyre for the money.

Have a nice Day.

Given 42% while driving a Holden Colorado Utility (225/45 R17) on mostly country roads for 34,000 spirited miles
Great tyre, when new. Mine are now 2 years old and I’m not sure what’s gone on but I think the compound has hardened. Whilst tyre life (in terms of kms) is great, they are now down right dangerous in the wet. Understeering on damp roads, the back now steps out around every corner at slow speeds, I am not game to try at high speeds. Will not buy again.

Given 91% while driving a Chevrolet Suburban (285/70 R17) on mostly motorways for 60 average miles
I bought a set of the hankook dynapro mt tires in Feb of 2012, I run them on a 04 1/2 ton 2wd suburban with a locker. I have gotten good traction all around, on the road, off the road. I rotate them every 5000 miles when I do my oil change. I am currently running the same tires with with an estimated 5-10,000 miles left to go worth of tread. Currently have over 60,000 miles on them. Starting to get a little uneven wear....But wow! These tires where Worth the $200 a piece I paid for them. I would definitely buy them again.

(265/75 R16) on for 0 miles
use 265x16hankook dynapro mt on 4x4permanent landcruiserstationwagon 66%tared road 33% gravel road loaded average at least 50 %. Still get slow punctures on running surface of tyres ,not on sidewalls, and always backtyres (4×4 traction) . Highly improvement compared to other used before. Dry / wet grip handles good. +_ 30 000km now and patern still ok. Hope that if the new sealguard-technology by roboter coated inside rubbermass on runningsurface is implemented by hankook
have this problem also sorted out. Seen the many using these tyres it is worthwile trying .
